New Jersey Adoption Search

New Jersey Adoption Search

Are you conducting a New Jersey adoption search?

A while back, we wrote that a bill to open adoption records in New Jersey had been passed bynew-jersey-adoption-search the New Jersey Senate and was being considered for approval by the New Jersey Assembly.  If passed, an adoptee would have access to his/her original birth certificate as long as a no contact veto was not signed by the birth parents.

Here is that complete post:  Good News About Finding Birth Parents In New Jersey

OmniTrace recently contacted the New Jersey Office Of Legislative Services for an update.  Bill S611 has not yet been approved.  They informed us that Bill S611 has been in Committee (Assembly) since March 2008 and, to date, no schedule has been set for its review.  If and when Bill S611 is approved by the Committee, it will then go before the full Assembly and, if approved, then will be signed by the Governor.  The Office Of Legislative Services could not provide us a time frame.

Also, this bill has an option for a No Contact Veto.  So, if S611 is finally signed by the Governor, New Jersey will have to give the birth parents time to sign the Veto.  This may take up to a year.

You can obtain a copy of the proposed bill here:  S611.  You can also call (609) 292-4840 for information.

We’ll keep you posted on anything new we hear about this important legislation.  In the meantime, here’s good news–OmniTrace can successfully conduct a New Jersey adoption search without access to open adoption records.

I PAID OMNITRACE, STILL NO RESULTS! DUE TO FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS, MY WIFE AND I GAVE UP OUR FIRST SON FOR ADOPTION. HE WAS BORN 11-24-1989 IN OMAHA NE. HE WAS ADOPTED BY “ANDREA AND EDWARD” WHO LIVED IN HACKENSACK COUNTY NJ. I REALIZE THAT IT WAS FOR THE MOST PART “FINAL,” BUT LETS FACE IT HE IS “OUR” BLOOD, WE WANNA KNOW THAT HE IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LET HIM KNOW THAT HE HAS SIBLINGS. WE ALSO WANNA LET HIM KNOW THAT WE LOVE HIM WITH ALL OUR HEARTS. WHAT IS TRULY SAD IS THAT WE GAVE OUR HEART AND SOUL TO THE ADOPTIVE COUPLE AND THEY HAVE ABSOLUTLY NO COMPASSION FOR US. I MEAN “REALLY?” WE GAVE THEM THE GREATEST GIFT THEY COULD EVER GET AND THEN TURN THERE BACK ON US LIKE WE WAS LEPERS! IF ANY ONE KNOW ANYTHING PLEASE ADVISE! MUCH HOPE WE FIND OUT SOMETHING.

Hi Steve. One of our researchers will contact you shortly to explain where we are with our search for your birth son. Sorry this search is taking so long, but your son is still very young and does not have much of a paper trail, and we are having difficulty developing information on him.

I am looking for my son and daughter Anthony and Marianna Kovolesky. In 2000 my son Anthony was taken from me via the state as we call Dyfs. There have been alot of issues in my life bad marriage, substance abuse etc. I fought with Dyfs for many years they just were not on my side it was extremely difficult. I just felt I was getting nowhere. In 2001 my daughter Marianna was born. Was taken from birth but put in the same foster home as Anthony. Something happened where they were taken out of the home and put somewhere else I believe in Monmouth County. Where they were adopted. But the foster family that had them prior wanted to adopt. Something went wrong Dfys told the foster family that they were returning them to me very untrue. Now Im in search of them they have 2 other siblings now in my custody. Want them to know they were never forgotten. Ther are also medical issues with my son Anthony who is now 13 in June he has Autism ADHD and so does my son Harley who is 4. Please I am asking for help we do not have alot of money we just want them in our new family again

  4. Cassandra says:

Anthony was born 6/26/98 and Marianna was born 7/1/01

I am looking for my half brother. My mother had him at a very young age. She was made to give him up for adoption by my grandmother. Unfortunately, the only information I have is the father’s name of this child was Allen? Alan? Long. She lived in New Jersey at the time.

Looking for my mother’s biological family. GIGLIOTTA: My mother was born 4/11/1952 in Newark, NJ at a children’s hospital that soposidly burnt down, and was adopted by my grandparents Sanford and Isabel Goldie. I have a copy of a document from the Essex County Court probate division, the civil action judgment granting adoption. It states that my mothers real name was (first name in quotes) “Jean” Gigliotta. The adoption was done through a attorney named Louis K. press Esq. and the adoption was finialized on the 4th day of August, 1953 where my mother’s name was changed to “Michelle Goldie” This Document was signed by a Joseph E. Conlon J.C.C. Please if you have any information reguarding my search for my mother’s biological family, we would appreciate it. It’s been a piece of our lives we have always wonderd about. My mother sadly passed away thanksgiving day 2009. I promised her I would continue to search for her biological family. I have hit nothing but dead ends seeing as how her records are sealed. My mom got very sick out of nowhere and the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with her. I believe it was some form of cancer because she got so skinny. Please someone help me locate my mothers biological family. It would mean the world to me, and the rest of my siblings. Thank you.
