Allow me to begin by introducing myself. My name is Brandy Bonner and I am 27 years old. I was born on October 12th, 1982. I am writing this because I am trying to locate my father. Well, I will begin with my mother’s name, Renee Johnson. She is from East Palo Alto, and I believe that is where she met my father. I’m not sure if her and my father had an ongoing relationship or not, but somewhere in the picture I was created. On my birth certificate my father’s name is stated as William Andrew Lee Bonner. I am not sure if that is correct, but I hope that it is, as that would make you the closest I’ve ever been to knowing my father. I have looked for him my whole life, but now that I am older I think it affects me more. It feels as if there is a missing part of my life, which is quite contrary to what one would perceive, as you would look at me and think that my life is perfect, I have a husband and three biological kids, a stepdaughter, and a nephew that my husband and I take care of. My mother and siblings are still a big part of my life. I know I am jumping around a lot, but there is so much I would like to say and I don’t know where to begin. I am not trying to contact you for money or anything like that, I am simply doing it for the joy of my heart and to let you know where life has taken me and how GOD has blessed me, and I would like to know the same from you. How have you been and have you ever thought about me? Do I have brothers or sisters? Are you okay? Those are merely a few of the endless questions I have for you. The bottom line is that I would like to meet you, and if you don’t want to meet me I will never understand, but at least I will be able to say that I put forth the effort and tried. If you do decide to meet me and we try to start over, that would be the best thing I, as your daughter, could ask for. I’ll be okay either way. I just hope and pray that this is you. I have this emptiness inside that will not go away, and I hope you can fulfill that. No matter how you are, or who you are, or what your past is, I will love and except you with open arms. I grew up to be a bright woman and I can never hold back on my heart or life, it’s just to short. Hopefully, I am writing to the correct man, and you will get back to me. All I have to remember you by is a photo. I look about 2 to 3 months old in it, and you are holding me. I dream sometimes about how you will look now, I know you’re a lot older, but my memories of you are still the same; tall, dark skinned, hazel colored eyes, an afro, a nice looking man, my father. I never had a real chance to meet you, but it feels like I talk to you often, that’s how much you are in my thoughts, heart, and prayers. When I had my wedding, I’m not sure if this may mean much to you but it means the world to me, my uncle Robert walked me down the aisle and gave me away and that giving day I thought and cried for you. I love my uncle to death, but that is every girl’s dream, for their father to walk them down the aisle, and I wish you were there. My kids always ask me were my dad is, and I tell them I just have not seen you in a real long time. Two of them are nine, one is five and the other is three. I know, I started young.
My life was hard for a while, but I pulled through. I’ve never done drugs, and I graduated from high school and attended a Jr. college. Well, I’ve spoken enough, and I am going to end this for now. I can go on for days, but I am at work on my lunch break and there is not nearly enough time to go through all of the many things I would like to tell you and show you. Most of all, the main one is to let you know that I LOVE YOU. Some people may ask, “How can you love someone that’s never been there,” but I can easily tell them that I carried you around for 27 years in my heart, and you won’t go nowhere no matter what. My name is Christie Northrup. I was born in Ottumwa Iowa in January of 1987. My mothers name is Denise Ann Hoelzel…maiden name Northrup. I have been searching for my birth father for some time with no luck. My original birth certificate claimed a Michael Roorda to be my birth father but by the age of ten that was wiped off and another father was questioned. By the age of 16 a Thomas McGill requested a paternity test and he too was not my father. My mother has been…well for the lack of a better word…a bit shady about the whole thing. I’m not certain whether it is because she truly doesn’t have a clue or is in denial about who the real father actual is. I do know that she has admitted to other family members that she is aware of his identity. The only lead I have (given to me by other members of my family of course) is a man named Bryan Burgett. I was born July 6, 1963 in Vancouver, British Columbia. My mom was an unwed mother who conceived me as a result of a brief affair with a man called Jim Reid. His nickname at that time was “Scottie”. He is thought to be living in the Vancouver area, but when he and my mom were involved they were living in Victoria at the time. He was in the military, and may have even had a wife and other children already. My mom was only 21. Her name is Helena. Ihave never had any contact with my father. It is very upsetting for my mother to discuss him as he left her with no support and little acknowledgement of the pregnancy. Apparently, he did see me when I was an infant and remarked that I looked like him or something to that effect. I live in California now and would like to make contact…satisfy that curiousity and maybe make a connection. One more thing, Mr. Reid’s family did live in Toronto at one point. I’ve posted on facebook hoping out of my 500+ friends, somebody would know something. I got 2 responses. One person said they saw him at store in Fredericton 2 years ago and it was in a store that sold building supplies like flooring, doors, windows, etc…don’t know if that’s a clue or not. The other person said that he is living in California but I’m not sure if that is reliable info or not. I’ve googled him with no luck. I been on tons of people search sites and I have even paid on a couple sites to see if I could get more info. Again, no luck. I had other friends and family search with no luck
I called a private investegator to see what it would cost and that would be a min. of $500.
I’ve been looking for a couple years and I’m getting frustrated. It’s almost like he disappeared off the earth.

I am your Father. Your Mother and I were just teenagers, living with our own single Moms, when we dated. After we stopped seeing each other she moved away for a year or so. Maybe this is when she had YOU. But this never dawned on me. She never said she was pregnant or had a child. Maybe she wanted to protect me…or you. I wasn’t exactly the most responsible guy back then. Perhaps she didn’t tell me because she knew I would fight to keep you when neither one of us were capable of being parents. Maybe she just wanted a better life for you! If so, she did the right thing. Either way, I never knew you were born, I still don’t, but over the past 8 years I’ve “felt” you. I’ve felt you in my heart and in my head. I’ve spent hours reading posts on-line of sons and daughters searching for their birth parents, crying over letters from strangers looking for people who may or may not want to be found. I WANT TO BE FOUND! I’d love to hear you say, “I think you’re my Father.” I want to look into your eyes and immediately see me in them. I want to hold you in my arms and cry over the years we were robbed of each other, then rejoice over the years we have ahead of us. I want to make you understand that I didn’t know about you, because if I had, I would have spent every waking hour and every available resource looking for you! I want to introduce you to your Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and the rest of your big extended family who will welcome you. I want to meet your Mom and Dad and thank them from the bottom of my heart for raising you. Mostly, I want the chance to BE your Father. And all that comes with it.
