County Sheriff Can Help You Find Missing Persons
County Sheriff – Find Missing Persons

Nearly every county in the USA has a County Sheriff Department that handles non-municipal law enforcement situations. A County Sheriff Office can be a great resource to help you find missing persons such as: missing family members, missing birth family, lost children, and persons in hiding.
The County Sheriff handles the county jails, inmate transportation, outstanding warrants, vehicle accidents on county highways, non-municipal crimes, sheriff sales and more. Needless to say, they have a lot of data on a lot of people.
If you think your subject(s) are in a particular county, don’t hesitate calling the County Sheriff to help you find missing persons. Please note: you’ll have much better luck speaking with office support personnel or a deputy– the Sheriff can be a pretty busy person.
The support personnel at the County Sheriff Office can provide you (1) landlord information if you suspect your subject is a renter, (2) utility companies in the area, (3) the names and phone numbers of major companies/employers, (4) phone numbers of people with a particular last name, (5) inmate information.
Someone from the County Sheriff Office may even personally know your missing person, particularly in a rural area.
If you think your missing person is wanted by the law, click HERE and then click on the appropriate State abbreviation. Our statewide pages contain wanted persons links for most counties in the USA. They also contain much more information to help you find missing persons.

I am Rita. I was born in Stockton CA – St Josephs Hosp – on Dec. 9, 1962. I was adopted prior to birth by a wonderful couple who had limited info re my Mom. I know for sure I have two sisters – and poss 1 brother. My bio Mother Nancy never held or saw me per the adoption, and oddly enough she is not listed as birth mother on the copy of the birth cert I have – my adopted mom is listed. I dont even know if that is legal or if that is the way attornies did it way back in 62! Anyway, my bio Mom w/b 69-70 this this. My sisters were young when I was adopted so they w/b approx 48 – 55 yrs. Brother if there is one unk.
I know that my bio mom lived with her parents and my two sisters in the Stockton area, as did my adopted parents and the attorney was from stockon CA as well. I have my bio Moms last name but I dont know if it is her maiden name or a married name. Her name was Nancy Stevens in 1962 and she lived in around Stockton CA. If anyone knows about my sisters or family history/health history I would love to know.
Thanking all in advance that read this.
Rita
I understand the feelings of families with missing member or friends. Just keep the spirit up and don’t lose hope. There are reasons why these things happen and be positive enough. It may take several weeks, months or even years before you can locate a missing person.
Many missing people, especially teenagers, may have run away from home of their own free will. There’s no harm looking for them as they may be too afraid or ashamed to come back. There is a possibility that the missing person choose to run away from home with their own and personal reasons.
