I was at the home of unwed mother in ft wayne , son was 10 lb 2 oz and I named him jeffrey stewart woodward papers were not signed till 10 days after bith,because of presure to sign and my parents would not let me keep him…

I been wanting to find out who my real father is.. He is not on my birth certificate. I asked my mother who he is. She told me she doesn’t, or she’ll tell me he is dead, or she’ll get me some random name. I spoke to family members and the say they don’t know. How would I go by find anything out. All I know it was in Kentucky in 1982- I was born Jan 23 1983- 3 months early. I have Childern my self and I would Like to know what health problems run on the side of the family.

Should have added his DOB is thought to be 09/20/1965 and he was placed with his adoptive parents 10/27/1965. His adoptive parents lived in Charlotte, NC when they initiated the adoption but moved to Caswell County, NC before his birth so the actual adoption was completed in Greensboro, NC.

My husband was adopted through Children’s Home Society of NC. Their website says they charge $500 to provide even non-identifying information. How can this be legal? Is there any other way to obtain this information?
