By Chris Maione – OmniTrace Research Department Manager

Here’s a recent case where our client requested that we conduct a birth mother search on his behalf…
Our client was born on the east coast. One of our OmniTrace contacts–a genealogist– (source #1), was able to uncover the birth mother’s maiden name, age (born in the early 1930′s), and the town she was Read More

There’s a caveat, of course: Birth parents will be able to contact the state to have their names deleted. If they elect to do this, they would fill out a birth family history form containing medical and social history. The birth parent would also have Read More

Find Adoptee | Search By Date Of Birth Of Child
Adoptee Search
You may be surprised that you can find an adoptee by having just the date of birth of your
birth child. It’s true: having just a date of birth can lead to a successful adoptee search!
If you can recall your child’s date of birth, online databases are available to compile a list of persons, along with their addresses and phone numbers, born on that date of birth who currently or previously have been associated with the state where the adoptee was born. This list might be quite large, depending on the state, but will give you a reasonable Read More

Adoption Attorney – Find Birth Parents
Here’s Part 2 on contacting your adoption attorney to help find your birth parents. Please read The Adoption Attorney – A Good Source To Find Your Birth Parents before proceeding.
To initiate contact with an attorney or law firm we suggest that you send to the attorney an attractive “thank you” card for his help. Include a photograph of yourself or family if it is feasible. Also, include a short, hand-written letter (not more than ¾ of a page) that is similar to the following. This is only a guideline so tailor your letter to your particular needs.
Dear Mr. ______:
My name is _____. You (or your firm) were kind enough to handle my adoption in 19xx. Like a great many people around the country today, I would like to find and establish contact with my birth parents Read More
